This 3-hour assessment offers a detailed exploration of autism traits, past and present. I will gather background information relating to your family, early years, health, education and employment. We will then discuss your experiences of social relationships, communicating with others, and conversations and interactions. We will also explore your strengths, interests, and preferences.
The interview used to guide us is the Autism Clinical Interview for Adults (ACIA), which covers the key areas required for a diagnosis of autism and the exclusion of other possible reasons for differences, according to diagnostic criteria.
You are welcome to attend alone or to bring a family member or friend to support and offer input. Breaks will be provided as needed to ensure you are comfortable.
